Outreach

Drafting, approval, sending through your own Gmail, suppression, and what we never do.

GetFunded helps you write to funders. It does not write to funders for you. Every message is read and approved by a person before it goes anywhere.

Drafting (every plan)

  1. Open a saved funder and choose Draft outreach.
  2. Pick a template, or start from a blank one.
  3. Optionally ask the AI to polish the draft. It rewrites your template using facts from the funder's record and your approved facts only. This costs 2 credits. The result is shown in a violet AI box with every claim linked to its evidence.
  4. Edit the draft until it is yours.

A draft is just text in your workspace until you approve it.

Approval

A message is sent only when all of these are true:

  1. You clicked Approve on that exact message.
  2. The recipient is not on your suppression list.
  3. Your daily sending cap allows it.

Approval is recorded with who approved and when.

Sending through your own Gmail (Pro and above)

GetFunded does not have its own mail server. It sends through your Gmail account, as you, with your permission.

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and connect Google.
  2. Grant permission to send mail. We store the token encrypted. We never see your password.
  3. Set a daily cap. The default is 50 messages a day.

Sent messages show up in your Gmail Sent folder like any other email. Replies come to your inbox. When a reply is recorded, every pending follow-up to that contact is cancelled.

You can disconnect Google at any time. Disconnecting deletes the token.

Contacts

Contacts in your workspace come from four places, and each one says where it came from:

SourceMeaning
Filing (Part XV)A role inbox the funder published on its 990-PF, copied when you click "Use this contact"
ManualYou typed it
ImportFrom your CSV
WebYou found it on the funder's site and added it

We never copy a named person's email from a filing into your workspace. Only role inboxes such as grants@ are offered.

Suppression

Add an email address or a whole domain to the suppression list. Suppressed addresses are checked when you approve and again when the message is sent. Use it for anyone who asked not to be contacted, and for funders that say they do not accept inquiries.

Follow-ups

After a message is sent, open it and choose Write a follow-up. The follow-up is a new draft linked to the first message, so a reply threads correctly. Each follow-up needs its own approval before it is sent. When a reply is recorded, every pending follow-up to that contact is cancelled.

Planned for Team and above, not built yet: planning a series of follow-ups in advance, spaced by days, that stops on its own when the funder replies. Until it ships, you write each follow-up yourself.

Dedicated outreach (Enterprise)

Enterprise includes managed campaigns, sender domains with warm-up, deliverability monitoring, onboarding and an SLA. Contact us for details.

What we never do

  • We never send a message you have not approved.
  • We never send from an address that is not yours.
  • We never buy, rent or scrape contact lists.
  • We never publish a named person's email from a filing.
  • We never let the AI claim a funder is interested in you.
  • We never send to a suppressed address, even by mistake, because the check runs twice.
  • We never hide what the AI wrote. AI-polished text stays labelled, in the draft and in your activity log.
